Piolo Pascual still wants to keep son Iñigo out of showbiz despite brief TV appearance

Nangyari ang duet nina Piolo at Iñigo sa ASAP Rocks noong Linggo, January 9 (CLICK HERE to watch the video). I was really caught [by surprise]."

"It was a surprise. I mean, we are all aware that I'm trying to keep him from showbiz, because nag-aaral yung bata.

"Ayokong ma-publicize masyado because ayokong ma-divert yung attention niya from education or from school to showbiz.

"Because as it is, mahirap if magnified na, whatever you do and then you're in school, pag-uusapan ka.

"Which is one of the reasons why I agreed na mag-aral siya sa States o pumunta siya sa States. Para at least, he will have his own identity.

"But now that he's 13, and then that video was really a surprise, gustuhin ko man siyang pagalitan, gustuhin ko mang magalit, parang... it served its purpose.

"That was his... for me, talagang it's the biggest birthday gift I got from him.

"And for me, he's my son... He just wants to make me happy on my birthday, and we respect that," mahabang paliwanag ni Piolo, who turned 34 years old yesterday, January 12.

"I hope it doesn't go to his head," nangingiting sabi ng ama.

"I hope na huwag niyang isipin na, way niya yun o maging door niya yun sa pagpasok sa showbiz at kalimutan ang pag-aaral. Because I really insist na tapusin pa rin yung pag-aaral bago mag-showbiz."

But I don't have to defend, or parang expose him or anything, you know. I respect people's opinion. So, whatever my son did, kayo na'ng bahala."

"I never really asked [him] about that. Because for me, ayokong i-entertain yung thought.

"Ayokong isipin niya na, just because of what he did, na siyempre maraming magiging interesado, maraming mga gustong magtanong about him. I just don't want him corrupted.

"I just don't him to think of other things other than education. Gusto ko talaga na i-enjoy niya yung pagkabata niya, more than anything. Kaya hindi namin pinag-uusapan," paliwanag ni Piolo.
