Latin Titleholder: Xavier Freire
Xavier Freire is from Guayaquil Ecuador. The whole country rejoiced when he was crowned Mr. Intercontinental 2008. This was maybe the reason why the 2009 edition of Mr. Intercontinental was held in Guayaquil. Indeed there's no way to celebrates one's success than doing it in your backyard.
